RED BULL: 5 BAKU WINS - FERRARI: 0

Through 2025, Red Bull had won five of Baku’s nine Grands Prix, while Ferrari’s five pole positions had produced no victories.

Red Bull and Ferrari cars beneath a five-to-zero comparison of Grand Prix wins at Baku through 2025, including the 2016 European GP and excluding Sprints.

Ferrari has started more than half of Baku’s Grands Prix from pole. Red Bull has won more than half of them.

That contrast tells the story of two very different records on the same streets. Ferrari has repeatedly found the speed to lead qualifying. Red Bull has collected five victories with three different drivers, winning races that unfolded in very different ways.

FIVE WINS, DIFFERENT ROUTES

Daniel Ricciardo delivered Red Bull’s first Baku victory in 2017 from tenth on the grid. An early stop to clear debris from his brakes made his afternoon harder still, but he fought back through a race disrupted by incidents, penalties and a red flag.

It was an unlikely beginning to what became the strongest winning record at the venue.

Sergio Pérez added the next victory in 2021 after a late tire failure took race-leading teammate Max Verstappen out. Red Bull lost one potential winner but still had another in position to finish the job.

The following two editions brought consecutive Red Bull one-two finishes, with Verstappen winning in 2022 and Pérez in 2023. Verstappen’s 2025 victory then raised the team’s total to five.

Remarkably, only the last of those five victories came from pole position.

FERRARI’S SPEED HASN’T DELIVERED THE WIN

Sebastian Vettel took Ferrari’s first Baku pole in 2018. Charles Leclerc added four consecutive poles from 2021 through 2024.

Five opportunities to start at the front. No victory at the finish.

That does not make all five races the same missed chance. Pole position alone cannot establish who had the strongest race pace, and Ferrari’s results reflect different circumstances.

In 2022, neither Ferrari finished while Red Bull took first and second. A year later, Leclerc finished third behind another Red Bull one-two. In 2024, he finished second to Oscar Piastri, bringing McLaren onto Baku’s winners’ list while Ferrari remained absent.

Ferrari has been close enough to finish runner-up with Vettel, Kimi Räikkönen and Leclerc. It has never taken the final step.

WHAT FERRARI STILL NEEDS FROM BAKU

Through nine editions, Red Bull’s five victories exceed the other constructors combined: Mercedes has three and McLaren one.

For Ferrari, the task before the 2026 Azerbaijan GP is more specific than proving it can be quick around Baku. Five poles have already demonstrated that.

The missing result is a win.
