HAMILTON OWNS HIS FERRARI OUTBURST

Lewis Hamilton has taken responsibility for his frustrated Ferrari radio and television comments after finishing fourth at Zandvoort. After reviewing his reaction, Hamilton acknowledged that it did not reflect the standard he expects from himself and promised to respond better.

F1Unchained News Brief graphic for Lewis Hamilton taking responsibility for his Ferrari radio frustration after finishing fourth at the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix.

The frustration developed while Hamilton followed Charles Leclerc despite the Ferrari drivers running different strategies. Ferrari had intended to stop Leclerc earlier but extended his stint by one lap to avoid traffic, while Hamilton’s plan to remain out was not immediately communicated to prevent rival teams from anticipating it. Hamilton ultimately finished 0.849 seconds behind George Russell, with Leclerc fifth.

Hamilton also reaffirmed his belief in Ferrari and praised the development work continuing at the factory. He heads to the team’s home race at Monza tied with Russell on 183 points and 59 behind championship leader Kimi Antonelli.
