Verstappen Wins Singapore Sprint, Ferrari Takes Second and Third as Rivals Crash.

Max Verstappen won a rain-delayed Singapore Sprint ahead of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, while George Russell’s early crash and McLaren’s final-lap collision helped Kimi Antonelli extend his championship lead.

Results are provisional and subject to post-race checks and stewards’ decisions.

Max Verstappen took victory in Saturday’s Singapore Sprint, finishing 2.591 seconds ahead of Lewis Hamilton as Ferrari secured second and third through Hamilton and Charles Leclerc.

The 20-lap contest changed dramatically at both ends. George Russell briefly led before crashing on the opening lap, while contact between Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris reshuffled the points positions on the final tour.

Verstappen collected eight points, with Ferrari taking 13 between its drivers.

Russell’s lead ends at the final corner

Rain delayed the start by approximately half an hour, and every driver began on intermediate tires.

Russell passed Verstappen at the start and opened a gap, but lost control exiting the final corner of the first lap. His Mercedes hit the pit wall, ending his Sprint and bringing out the Safety Car.

Russell later accepted responsibility. He explained that he ran wide and touched the painted white line, describing the incident as a misjudgment in the wet conditions.

It was a costly lost opportunity before a Sunday Grand Prix in which he already faces a power-unit grid penalty.

Verstappen keeps control as Ferrari collects

Verstappen regained the lead after Russell’s exit and held it when racing resumed following the Safety Car period.

Hamilton had already transformed his afternoon with a start that carried him from sixth to third. Russell’s retirement promoted him to second, where he remained through the finish.

Behind them, Leclerc faced growing pressure as the circuit dried and his intermediate tires wore down. Piastri and Norris closed on the Ferrari, putting third place under threat.

Other incidents reduced the field further. Pérez and Stroll collided early, while contact involving Albon, Bortoleto and Bottas contributed to all three retiring.

McLaren’s final lap changes the points

Norris attempted to pass fourth-placed Piastri at Turn 5 on the final lap, and the McLarens collided.

Piastri stopped, while Norris continued to finish eighth. Piastri was classified 14th with 19 laps completed, but did not reach the finish. Both drivers were summoned by the stewards; no final ruling had been verified at the time of writing.

Antonelli moved up to fourth, followed by Liam Lawson, Oliver Bearman and Nico Hülkenberg.

The five points took Antonelli to 325, extending his championship lead over Russell to 89. Verstappen moved ahead of Norris into fifth in the standings on 196 points, one behind Leclerc.
