FIRST SPRINT. FINAL DUTCH GP.

Zandvoort will host its first-ever F1 Sprint during its final Formula 1 weekend.

The 2026 Dutch Grand Prix will place two milestones inside one weekend. Saturday brings the first F1 Sprint ever held at Zandvoort; Sunday brings the circuit’s 40th and final Formula 1 Grand Prix.

ONE PRACTICE SESSION

Friday begins with the weekend’s only free-practice session before Sprint Qualifying sets the grid for Saturday’s 24-lap race.

The Sprint is followed by Grand Prix qualifying on Saturday, with that separate session determining the starting order for Sunday’s race.

POINTS BEFORE THE FAREWELL

The Sprint will last approximately 30 minutes and includes no mandatory pit stop. The first eight finishers score championship points, from eight points for the winner to one for eighth place.

The Sprint result does not determine the Grand Prix grid.

A FIRST INSIDE THE FINAL WEEKEND

Formula 1 returned to Zandvoort in 2021 after a 36-year absence. Five Grands Prix have been held during its modern run, with the sixth and final edition scheduled for 2026.

Zandvoort will therefore introduce the Sprint format immediately before its current Formula 1 chapter ends.
