Mercedes has taken eight wins and 10 poles in 2026, but its works team has not won at Zandvoort since Juan Manuel Fangio in 1955.

Mercedes’ 2026 Formula 1 car with statistics showing the works team’s last Dutch Grand Prix victory came with Juan Manuel Fangio in 1955.

Mercedes enters Zandvoort with eight victories and 10 pole positions from the opening 11 races of 2026. Despite that form, its works team has not won the Dutch Grand Prix since 1955.

FANGIO LED A MERCEDES 1–2

Juan Manuel Fangio started from pole and won the 1955 Dutch Grand Prix for Mercedes-Benz. Teammate Stirling Moss finished just 0.300 seconds behind, completing a Mercedes 1–2.

That remains the manufacturer’s most recent Zandvoort victory as a Formula 1 works team.

POWERED WINS ARE NOT WORKS-TEAM WINS

Mercedes-powered cars have won at Zandvoort more recently. Lando Norris won for McLaren in 2024 before Oscar Piastri followed in 2025.

Those victories belong to McLaren in the constructor record, leaving Mercedes’ own works-team drought unchanged.

ONE FINAL CHANCE AT ZANDVOORT

The gap from Fangio’s victory in 1955 to the 2026 race is 71 calendar years.

A victory for Kimi Antonelli or George Russell would finally return Mercedes’ works team to the top step at Zandvoort—and end the wait in the Dutch Grand Prix’s final scheduled edition.
