Lando Norris’ LN4 Fusion Secures Its Next Step Toward Formula 1

LN4 Fusion has been selected for the 2027 Formula Regional European Championship, adding a confirmed place on the junior ladder to the racing operation co-founded by Lando Norris.

Lando Norris’ plans to help develop the next generation of racing drivers have taken another step forward. LN4 Fusion will join the FIA Formula Regional European Championship in 2027, with its entry confirmed on October 14.

The team and fellow newcomer Invicta Racing will join the championship’s 10 returning outfits. Each will enter three cars, expanding the field to 36.

For LN4 Fusion, the announcement gives official confirmation to an important part of the operation outlined at its September launch. Formula Regional sits between Formula 4 and FIA Formula 3, connecting the early stages of a driver’s single-seater career with the categories immediately below F1.

A place on the junior ladder

Formula Regional is already familiar territory for several drivers now racing in Formula 1. Kimi Antonelli, Gabriel Bortoleto, Franco Colapinto and Isack Hadjar all competed at that level.

LN4 Fusion will enter a field that includes established teams such as Prema, ART Grand Prix and R-ace GP. All drivers compete in the Tatuus T-326, making the championship a shared technical platform on which teams and drivers must prove themselves.

The 2027 season is scheduled to begin at Portimão in April. For supporters following Norris’ project, it provides another championship in which to watch the team develop.

Building the team around the opportunity

Norris is the co-founder, with an experienced management group responsible for running the operation.

René Rosin is team principal, while racing director Guillaume Capietto oversees competition and technical work. Dan Richards leads the business as CEO, and Dan Hazlewood heads the UK racing operation.

The project also includes Italian Formula 4 and FIA Formula 3 programs. LN4 Fusion acquired selected assets of AIX Racing, securing its F3 entry through the end of 2027.

Formula 2 remains a separate step. The team announced its intention to enter the selection process, but an accepted F2 entry has not been confirmed.

Supporting drivers as well as running cars

Alongside the race team, Norris launched the LN4 Legacy Programme, an independent driver-development initiative operated by ADD Management and led by Julian Rouse.

The team describes that program as fully funded, with coaching, mentoring and career support intended to help talented drivers overcome financial barriers.

“You need the right people around you, the right support and the right opportunities at the right time,” Norris said at the launch.

The two projects address different parts of that challenge: a team providing a competitive environment, and a development program supporting individual drivers.

Neither guarantees a place in Formula 1. The confirmed Formula Regional entry does, however, give Norris’ wider ambition another concrete place to take shape on the track.
