LANDO NORRIS COMMITS TO McLAREN UNTIL AT LEAST 2030

“McLaren is my home.” After a team-record 163 Grand Prix starts, Lando Norris has committed to McLaren through at least 2030.

McLaren has secured reigning World Champion Lando Norris on a new contract through at least the end of 2030, with a multi-year option that could extend the partnership further. The agreement was announced on Saturday at the McLaren Technology Centre.

Norris joined McLaren’s junior programme in 2017 before becoming a Formula 1 race driver in 2019. He has since made 163 Grand Prix starts for the team—more than any other McLaren driver—and recorded 13 victories, 48 podiums and 18 pole positions. He helped McLaren win consecutive Constructors’ Championships in 2024 and 2025 before securing the 2025 Drivers’ Championship.

The extension adds further stability to a team that already has Oscar Piastri, Team Principal Andrea Stella and CEO Zak Brown under long-term agreements. It also arrives after Norris delivered consecutive victories in Hungary and the Netherlands, strengthening McLaren’s recovery from a difficult start to the 2026 season.

Norris described McLaren as his home and said the shared objective remains winning more races and championships. McLaren will also give him one of the MCL39 cars he raced during his title-winning 2025 campaign.
